The Cultural Affairs Bureau’s (IC) latest free trilingual Books and the City magazine, themed “Read Fun, Love More”, is now available.
The magazine, which the statement noted is now in its 36th issue, features three “reading lovers” who work in different sectors in Macau, each of whom was interviewed about their respective experiences of how reading has improved their lives, as well as their book recommendations.
The new issue also introduces “Book Delivery Services”, “Interlibrary Loan” and “Document Delivery” at public libraries’, while the “Library Handbook” section offers insights into how rare books inside a book chamber have been digitalised by library staff, as well as the “encouraging results” of last month’s “Book for Book” Activity.
Moreover, the “Author’s Say” showcases an illustrated book of oral history entitled A Song to Relieve a Thousand Sorrows which depicts the experience of Naamyam Narrative Songs master Au Kwan-cheung, while new books, movies and magazines are featured in the “New Launch” section. There are also 10 brief book reviews.
The magazine is available at public libraries, higher education institutions, the Tap Seac Gallery, bookshops and cultural and art facilities in Macau. The online version can be found on www.library.gov.mo.
