The Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) and Bank of China Macau Branch has signed a cooperation agreement on the “Award Scheme on Instructional Design for 2023/2024 Academic Year’’, aiming to jointly promote the professional development of teaching staff in Macau, the bureau said in a statement yesterday.
The cooperation agreement signing ceremony was held at the Macau Science Centre’s (MSC) Convention Centre in Nape on Wednesday.
The “Award Scheme on Instructional Design” was established in 1996 to provide support for teaching staff in terms of professional development, enable teaching staff to incorporate the knowledge and theories they have gained through research and learning into their teaching design and put the knowledge into practice, as well as to provide channels for teaching staff’s lesson planning and the results of their teaching research to receive feedback and suggestions from experts, the statement underlined.
According to the statement, the award comprises Distinction, Class A and Class B, and ancillary projects include “Information Technology Application”, “Affection for Family and the Mother Country”, “Finance and Wealth Management Education” and “Cross-School Research”. The application period is until July 25.
DSEDJ Director Kong Chi Meng was quoted by the statement as saying that the scheme aims to provide an exchange platform for teaching staff to share their teaching achievements, and that the Bank of China Macau Branch will continue to support the scheme, and launch activities such as financial education, career planning, and understanding of modern finance for teachers and students, in order to further enhance their understanding of the appropriate economic diversification of Macau.
Chan Hio Peng, director and chief executive of Bank of China Macau Branch was quoted as saying that the bank has supported the scheme for four years, with the “Affection for Family and the Mother Country” Award and the “Finance and Wealth Management Education” Award set up to encourage teaching staff to incorporate the concepts of patriotism, love for Macau and the Basic Law, and safeguarding national security into their teaching work in the course of teaching and research.
