Another local man has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) for sexually harassing a female tourist from the mainland, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Lei Chan Hong announced during a regular press conference yesterday.
Lei quoted the victim as saying that while she was on a public bus with a friend travelling from Rua do Campo (水坑尾街) en route to Taipa on Friday afternoon, a man touched her buttocks with his private parts on the crowded bus, adding that instead of shouting and stopping the man harassing her on the bus, she and her friend, both mainland students in their twenties, tricked him into giving them his phone number and then got off the bus at Praça de Ferreira do Amaral (亞馬喇前地) and called the police.
Thanks to the police forces’ citywide CCTV surveillance system and the information provided by the victim, the Public Security Police identified, according to Lei, the suspect in his thirties surnamed Kuok and arrested him in Rua do Campo the same afternoon.
Under questioning, Lei noted, Kuok, who told the police that he’s unemployed, admitted to committing the offence.
