Integrated resort operator MGM recently organised its third seminar with the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) under their joint “Together We Deliver Exceptional Hospitality as Tourism Ambassadors” training series, this time themed
“Be the Digital Ambassador: Showcasing Macao’s Charm with Online Courtesy”.
Held at MGM COTAI, a statement from the company on Wednesday said that the seminar was attended by over 230 participants from MGM, the industry and local universities. Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) Doctor of Business Administration Programme Coordinator Prof. Ivan Lai was the invited keynote speaker.
Prof. Lai “discussed the role of AI in transforming traditional tourism ambassador responsibilities, elaborated on how to leverage AI technology to empower individuals to take on this role, and shared practical strategies for using AI tools to enhance the quality of tourism services”, the statement said.
MGM Executive Vice President of Human Resources Wendy Yu (余婉瑩) was quoted by the statement as saying: “Integrating technology with the core values of the ‘Macao Courtesy Campaign’ empowers our team members to better deliver the city’s unique hospitality with greater efficiency and precision, creating unforgettable experiences for our guests. Looking ahead, MGM will continue to organise this training series and work hand in hand with the industry to drive service upgrades.”
The statement said that the “Together We Deliver Exceptional Hospitality as Tourism Ambassadors” Training Series has garnered support from over 30 entities, and drew over 1,500 attendees since its launch.
