Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Lei Chi Hou announced yesterday the arrest of a suspect related to a drug user case in January
Lei identified the suspect as a 36-year-old male non-resident worker (NRW) from Indonesia surnamed Hudi, who told police that he works as a cleaner.
According to Lei, on January 22, Judiciary Police officers busted a drug use case involving a couple of non-resident workers (NRWs) from Indonesia. In the operation, PJ officers seized 105 grams of cocaine and 0.73 grams of crystal meth.
Lei said that while being questioned the two suspects told police about a male cleaner from Indonesia, surnamed Hudi, who had twice purchased crystal meth from them shortly before they were caught by police, with each transaction amounting to HK$800.
The couple have been in custody since January 22, according to Lei
Lei said that acting on investigative leads, Judiciary Police officers intercepted Hudi at 3 p.m. on Tuesday and escorted him to his home in the city centre, where they seized two small plastic bags with crystal meth residue and a modified water bottle used for drug consumption.
According to Lei, Hudi tested positive for drugs in a urine analysis, verifying his substance abuse history. Lei said the Judicial Police were still tracing the drug supply chain and related suspects.
Hudi has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing charges of drug use and possession of drug paraphernalia.
