The city’s youth policies will focus on raising young residents’ competitiveness and helping them cope with challenges such as Macau’s mono-economy, Un Hoi Cheng, head of the Youth Department of the Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ), said yesterday.

Un made the remarks during a press conference about a closed-door regular meeting of the Youth Affairs Committee at the bureau.

The committee had commissioned Sun Yat-sen University’s Centre for Studies of Hong Kong, Macau and the Pearl River Delta to conduct a mid-term review of the government’s Macau Youth Policy (2012-2020).
