The revised version of the government-initiated amendment bill on sex crimes listed in the Macau Penal Code proposes that the production, sale, import, export, dissemination, display or distribution of pornography involving minors be prohibited, unchanged from the original draft version of the bill, Cheang Chi Keong, who chairs the legislature’s 3rd Standing Committee, said yesterday.

Cheang briefed reporters after a closed-door meeting with government officials at the Legislative Assembly (AL).

The outline of the bill was passed in a plenary session in January. After the committee held five meetings to discuss the bill in February, it asked legal advisors from both the legislature and the government to work on the wording of the bill, based on the opinions raised by committee members during the meeting.
