Macau’s traditional Chinese New Year (CNY) Market will return to Praça do Tap Siac for its 2026 edition, offering festive goods, flowers, snacks and cultural performances, while striving to attract revellers ahead of the Spring Festival celebrations.

The Year of the Horse begins next Tuesday.

According to a statement by the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) last week, the market will feature a total of 26 stalls, including 16 selling CNY products, six offering festive flowers and four selling snacks.

Visitors can browse a range of decorations and gifts, as well as seasonal food items, with fresh flowers, potted plants and traditional red couplets remaining popular choices for families preparing for the holiday.

Meanwhile, a variety of cultural and entertainment performances will also be arranged from tomorrow through next Monday in the square, from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

In addition, a large floral art exhibition and festive lighting decorations will be set up to enhance the seasonal atmosphere, according to the statement.

In order to facilitate shopping and logistics, temporary loading and unloading areas for the public and authorised vehicles will be arranged in Rua de Afonso de Albuquerque in order to provide convenience for the visitors to shop at the market, the statement added.

The market will run from tomorrow through Sunday from 12 p.m. to midnight, and next Monday and Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The CNY Market aims to provide a festive space to shop and enjoy seasonal cultural activities ahead of the holiday, the bureau said.
