Macao Light Rapid Transit Corporation (MLM) announced in a statement on its website that it will be hosting its “Speeding on the Rails – Beyblade* Tournament” on August 9, with the main venue being at Barra Station while several “challenge checkpoints” and activities will also be set up along the Taipa Line.

The announcement was made on Thursday.

The tournament will feature an Open Category and a Pairs Category, with six sessions to determine winners, the statement said. An “ultimate showdown” for a championship title will be held between winners of each Open Category session, with beyblade prizes up for grabs.

The event is overall geared not only towards enthusiasts, but also parent-child teams.

The statement added that the event also features challenge events and activities including “Line Exploration” and “Stamp Rally Challenge”, while the main venue also includes a “Free Battle Zone”. Other booths and activities will also be set up at the main venue.

The event’s overall objective is to “provide new leisure and travel experiences and to invigorate community vitality during the summer holidays”, the statement said.

Registration, which includes a fee of 80 patacas, is open from today until August 5.
