Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said yesterday the government planned to change its practices for the licensing of the city’s eating and drinking establishments, with the aim of making it easier for residents to apply for a licence to run such a business.

Senna Fernandes made the remarks while speaking to reporters after attending a meeting of the legislature’s Follow-up Committee for Public Administration Affairs.

The committee asked government officials, including Senna Fernandes and Secretary for Administration and Justice Sonia Chan Hoi Fan, to attend the meeting yesterday to discuss with committee members what measures the government plans to implement to make it easier for residents to apply for a licence to run an eating or drinking establishment.
