Frequently in the news nowadays are incidents of computer fraud and credit card scams, with people losing large sums of money to fraudsters and scammers. The Judiciary Police (PJ) have a special electronic fraud department tasked with preventing and solving such cases, frequently advising residents on how to protect themselves from the cheats.
In an email interview with The Macau Post Daily this week, the Judiciary Police answered questions on the subjects of computer fraud and telephone scams and gave advice to residents on how to protect themselves and keep their money safe.
The Macau Post Daily asked what the most common cases of computer and Internet fraud were in Macau, and whether most of the cases originated inside or outside the city.
