A taxi driver was caught by the police for his keeping a missing smartphone on Friday, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Wong Wai Chon said during a regular police press conference in Zape yesterday.

Wong identified the suspect as a local man in his thirties surnamed Cheang, who works as a taxi driver.

According to Wong, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday the male victim went to a petrol station in Avenida da Amizade. He used the toilet at the petrol station after which he realised that he had left his smartphone behind. He returned to the toilet immediately, but couldn’t find his phone. However, he saw the case of the phone had been removed and thrown in a rubbish bin there.

This undated handout photo provided by the Public Security Police (PSP) yesterday shows the smartphone displayed in a police pressroom.
