The Macau Customs Service said in a statement yesterday that its officers busted two illegal immigration cases earlier this week.
In the early hours of Monday, a resident saw a suspicious boat in the waters outside the oil depot at Ka Ho on the north-eastern shore of Coloane and suspected that the vessel was transporting illegal immigrants (IIs). The resident tipped off the Customs Service, the statement said.
A Customs Service speedboat was deployed to intercept the vessel and the seven people on board were caught. Customs officers on patrol along the coast also caught two male IIs on the shore at the oil depot, the statement said.
