Two sisters aged 15 and 20 were hospitalised yesterday after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning in their Ilha Verde home, Heath Bureau (SSM) said yesterday.
Both are locals. The statement said that the younger sister fainted in her bedroom after going into the kitchen at about 1 a.m. yesterday. The family called the police and she was taken to the private Kiang Wu Hospital.
Then at about 3 a.m., the older sister went into the kitchen to switch off the water heater, after which she felt dizzy and was taken to the private hospital by her father.
