Trio use picklocks to enter 3 flats, steal property worth 76,600 patacas: police

The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested two mainlanders on Monday for entering three flats by using picklocks and stealing jewellery, watches and cash worth a total of 76,600 patacas, PJ spokesman Choi Ian Fai said during a special press conference yesterday, adding that at the time of the press conference the police were still searching for a third suspect. Choi did not elaborate on the gender of the third suspect and where he or she comes from.

According to Choi, the first suspect surnamed Yang, in his sixties carried out two of the burglaries. He told the police that he is a farmer. The third burglary suspect surnamed Luo, in his forties, told the police that he is a transport worker. The victims’ information was not released.

aChoi pointed out that Yang entered the two flats in Beco do Gonçalo near Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro and Travessa das Venturas in San Kio district early this month. Yang used skeleton keys to force open the two flats’ doors. He stole 1,600 patacas in cash and foreign currencies and jewellery worth 30,000 patacas in total.
