Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On will officiate at the opening ceremony of the Athlete Training Centre in Cotai this morning, Macau Sports Bureau (ID) President Pun Weng Kun said during a media tour of the brand-new facility yesterday.
The centre is located in Rua de Ténis near the Macau East Asian Games Dome in Cotai.
According to Pun, the total gross floor area of the centre is 59,000 square metres. The first-phase of the project cost 1.63 billion patacas. It consists of three main areas – the training area, athletic medicine area and 315-bedroom accommodation area, Pun said. The three areas comprise two multi-function sports pavilions, an indoor swimming pool and a high-performance strength & conditioning centre, Pun pointed out.
