Macau Legislative Assembly (AL) Vice President Chui Sai Cheong has been appointed as a vice-director of the Macau Basic Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), Xinhua reported at the weekend. Chui Sai Cheong, a businessman, is the elder brother of former Macau chief executive Fernando Chui Sai On. Chui Sai Cheong replaced Susana Chou, a businesswoman and former president of the Macau Legislative Assembly.
Li Zhanshu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) appointed Chui Sai Cheong and the other members of the 5th term NPC Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Basic Law Committee members during the 15th Session of the Standing Committee of the 13th NPC on Saturday at the Great Hall of the People Xinhua has reported.
Wang Chen, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the NPC chaired Saturday’s appointment ceremony, according to the Xinhua report released over the weekend.
