Lawmaker-cum-unionist Kwan Tsui Hang has asked the government to give the public an explanation as to why its bill on protecting consumer rights has not been submitted to the Legislative Assembly (AL) as scheduled.
The veteran lawmaker also says she worries that lawmakers may not be able to finish debating and reviewing the bill within the current 4-year term of the legislature which will end on August 15 next year.
Kwan raises the bill in a written interpellation submitted to the legislature yesterday. A copy of the interpellation was sent to the media.
