HONG KONG - Hong Kong's Pok Oi Hospital in Yuen Long has announced that a four-year-old boy who died yesterday subsequently tested positive for COVID-19.

The hospital said in a statement this morning that the boy's breathing and heartbeat were found to have stopped when he was taken to its accident and emergency department around 3:30 a.m. yesterday.

Hospital staff tried in vain to resuscitate him. He passed away at 4:16 a.m. yesterday

Subsequent tests showed he tested positive for coronavirus.

The hospital said the Coroner's Court would look into the cause of the boy's death.
