The Judiciary Police (PJ) yesterday announced the arrest of eight people on suspicion of trafficking and taking drugs, in two separate cases.

A PJ spokesperson said in a special press conference yesterday that the police received a call from a security guard in a casino-hotel in Cotai on Tuesday night that drugs had been found in a hotel room. The security guard caught an 18-year-old woman from Taiwan at the scene, said the spokesperson, adding that PJ officers then arrested a further five people from Taiwan and the mainland in two other rooms where they found three bags of Ketamine weighing 12.36 grammes.

According to the spokesperson, a man from Taiwan, one of the six suspects, told PJ officers that he had brought the drugs to Macau from Taiwan.
