The Macau Band Directors Association (MBDA), co-organised with Sands China, yesterday presented “Amazing Winds – Concert of Macau Youth Symphonic Band” at The Parisian Theatre.

Established in 1996, the association has been involved in conducting band training in numerous local schools and is dedicated to the promotion and development of wind music in Macau.

Amazing Winds” is a musical series curated by the association, showcasing talented young musicians in solo performances, accompanied by the Macau Youth Symphonic Band. The performance featured a selection of original wind ensemble masterpieces.

The dynamic performance delivered by the youthful musicians and the two conductors was engaging and relatable. Unlike watching seasoned professionals who seem flawless like magicians, witnessing these young talents strive and grow on stage was both discernible and relatable. The journey from initial discomfort to confident displays of strength on stage mirrored personal growth experiences.

A notable highlight was the performance’s ability to captivate the audience, as most members of the audience remained in their seats post-intermission, which truly marked the performers’ ability to appeal to a diverse audience with its genuine quality.
