The Grammy and Emmy-winning string trio “Time for Three” recently performed in Macau and also engaged with the community, according to a Tuesday statement from integrated resort operator Sands China.
Time for Three (Tf3) is a classically trained string trio that explores a variety of musical genres. The members of the group are Nicolas Kendall, Charles Yang, and Ranaan Meyer.
The “Starry Symphony” concert took place last Sunday at the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) Grand Auditorium. It was title-sponsored by Sands China and conducted by the Macao Orchestra’s music director and principal conductor, Lio Kuokman. The statement noted the trio reimagines everything from American bluegrass and folk to pop music, blending them with “classical music and beyond”, the statement said.
A “Meeting the Artist - Time for Three” event was held at The Londoner Macao on Monday. According to the statement, over 100 music fans and Sands Cares Ambassadors were invited by Sands China and the Macao Orchestra. The event included a special performance with 26 children and youngsters aged 6-18, a discussion, a Q&A, and an autograph opportunity.
The statement highlighted that the events are part of the ongoing Sands China Performing Arts Programme, which was launched in 2023. The programme aims to support performing arts development and “showcase the charm of Macau as a City of Performing Arts”, according to the statement.
Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Wilfred Wong Ying-wai noted in the statement that the company has co-organised the Macao Orchestra concert season for three consecutive years and that the community event provided a platform for emerging local talent. “By hosting a wider range of music and art initiatives, we hope to further enhance public appreciation of arts and culture and inject vitality into the city’s cultural and creative industry”, Wong said in the statement.
