Cyclist dies after being hit by tanker

A 69-year-old male cyclist died yesterday after he was hit by a petrol tanker near the greyhound race track in Fai Chi Kei, according to the Public Security Police (PSP).

At about 1 p.m. yesterday, the petrol tanker hit the bicycle at the junction of Avenida do General Castelo Branco and Avenida do Conselheiro Borja. The local cyclist suffered serious head injuries. He was rushed to the public Conde de Sao Januario Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the police.

The junction is regulated by traffic lights.
