Landscape gardener diagnosed with scrub typhus: SSM
A 54-year-old local woman who works as a landscape gardener has been diagnosed with Tsutsugamushi Disease (aka scrub typhus), the Health Bureau (SSM) said in a statement yesterday.This is the first suspected case of scrub typhus reported in Macau this year.According to the statement, the patient, who had developed a fever and muscle pain on May Day, sought treatment at a private clinic on May 5. Local man dies burning charcoal in hotel room
The Judiciary Police (PJ) received a report from the Fire Services Bureau (CB) yesterday at 3:30 p.m. that a man suspected of having burned charcoal was found dead in a hotel guestroom in Zape, according to a PJ statement.The victim was a 46-year-old local man.The statement said that as the victim did not check out by the designated time, hotel staff went to the room to check and found the man lying unconscious in the bathtub.
