Package tour visitors in Aug rise 68.8 pct to 224,000

Macau’s number ofpackage tour visitors surged by 68.8 percent year-on-year to 224,000 last month, with those from mainland China soaring by 70.7 percent to 211,000, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced yesterday.Mainlanders accounted for 94.2 percent of all inbound package tour visitors.In addition, foreign tour visitors increased by 44.3 percent to 11,000, and those from South Korea (5,000) and India (2,000) rose by 61.4 percent and 337.5 percent respectively.In the first eight
