GDP growth slows to 1.6 pct in Q3

Macau’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew a mere 1.6 percent year on year in the third quarter in real terms, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) said in a statement yesterday. It was the lowest growth rate since the third quarter of 2016. According to the statement, the economy grew at a slower pace, mainly due to a continuous decline in construction investment and a notable slowdown in growth of exports of services.
