Hotel guests rise 199 pct to 1.1 million in April
Macau’s 129 hotels and inns recorded 1.1 million guests last month, a year-on-year growth of 199.0 percent, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced yesterday.Guests from the mainland (739,000), Hong Kong (254,000) and Taiwan (18,000) leapt by 202.2 percent, 1,171.4 percent and 407.3 percent respectively.However, staycationers (45,000) dropped by 52.8 percent.Guests’ average length of stay was nearly unchanged at 1.6 nights.Guestrooms’ average occupancy rate in April rose by 50.0
