National security defence commission to start next month

The Commission on the Defence of National Security of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) will start operating next month, the local government announced yesterday. The announcement came in the form of the promulgation in yesterday’s Official Gazette (BO) of an administrative regulation (by-law) on the setting-up of the commission. According to Article 18 of the regulation, it will take legal effect 30 days after its promulgation, i.e. early next month. Mobile phone imports rise 93 pct in Jan-July

Macau’s imports of mobile phones rose 93.1 percent to 4.08 billion patacas in the first seven months of the year, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) said in a statement on Friday. Hotel guests rise 6.8 pct to 8 million in Jan-July
